Cast Key II

The Cast Key is one of the long-selling puzzles among Hanayama's Cast Puzzle series. We have created a new version of this puzzle emphasizing style and precision, as PART2. Designed by Otake & Wong.
The object is to separate the two keys and then restore them to their initial state. It looks simple, but in fact involves a little trick. Beginners should therefore be careful not to pull them apart by force. Theme: "Key".

Product Name:
Cast Violon

Patented in America in 1965, this puzzle was orginally created by Joseph L. Litle. The idea to make this puzzle came to me after playing with a wooden copy built for me by my close, but now deceased friend, Tadao Muroi. The proportions have been changed considerably from the original plan in this new version. With this puzzle being styled after a violin and its strings, the word here is...'string'.

Product Name:
Cast Cricket

This puzzle, utilizing equipment used in the sport of cricket, can be traced back to a puzzle patented in England back in 1898. The world's only remaining original version of this puzzle is part of the personal collection of my close British friend, James Dalgety. James was kind enough to lend his hand in the creation of a Cast Puzzle version. The key word is 'gates'.

Product Name:
Cast Disk

The World Puzzle Designers' Forum, held in August 2000 in Los Angeles was where I first met my close friend Oskar. This puzzle is based on a disc based puzzle that he showed me at that time. Battling it out with this puzzle is like putting your mind to the test against one of the world's sharpest minds in Oskar. The idea to keep in mind here is 'circle'.

Product Name:
Cast Keyring

After completion of this puzzle by Dutch designer, Oskar, the words 'key' and 'ring' should be properly lined up with each other. This is vital. If you try to put the pieces back together without lining up the words correctly, you will have failed even after achieving what appears at first to be a successful matching. It should read 'Key Ring' even when upside down. The wording design is courtesy of the prodigy, Scott Kim. The key word is 'pair' .

Product Name:
Cast Horse

Back in America's wild west, horses were the sole mode of transportation. In those days, cowboys had to do whatever they could to keep their horses from being stolen. It's said that one cowboy had the idea of rigging horse-shoes up to work as a lock. So as the story goes, that was the starting point for this puzzle. Don't just use your head-you're got to wrangle with this one to solve it. The key word is "horses."
